Michael Jackson’s soft voice and lyrics were so powerful that they touched your heart and soul.
Not many musical artists hit you at your core anymore. The beat of the song is what makes hits nowadays, not the artist’s voice or lyrics.

Michael also had the beats to make hit songs “Want To Be Starting Something”, “Beat It” and “Thriller”, but he also had songs that made your heartbeat faster, such as “Ben”, “Who’s Loving You”, “Got To Be There”, “Rock With You”, “Smile”, which his older brother Jermaine sang at the public memorial at L.A.’s Staples Center on Tuesday, and many, many more songs that enabled Michael Jackson to hit the Billboard 100 14 times while selling 750 million records worldwide.

And let’s not forget the songs that inspired us to make the world a better place, such as “Heal the World”, “We Are the World” and “Earth Song”.
And one song, “Will You Be There” has such powerful lyrics that the verses should be repeated by every bride and groom on their wedding day.
Michael’s voice played and the words of that song scrolled across the big screen following Oscar-winning actress and Grammy Award-winning singer Jennifer Hudson’s performance of MJ’s song at the memorial.
Here are the words at the end of MJ’s song:
Will you be there?
In my darkest hour
In my deepest despair
Will you still care?
Will you be there?
In my trials
And my tribulations
Through doubts and frustrations
In my violence
In my turbulence
Through my fear and my confessions
In my anguish and my pain
Through my joy and my sorrow
In the promise of another tomorrow
I’ll never let you part
For you’re always in my heart.Wouldn’t those words be great marital vows?
I dare you to the find an artist whose songs touched so many people from all races, all religions and all corners of the world.
Michael is truly the greatest singer, performer and songwriter the world has ever seen.By Teneshia LaFaye
