MLMs and work-from-home opportunities get a bad rap because there’s the stigma that they are pyramids.
A pyramid is perceived to be when one person at the top is getting rich while the people at the bottom are poor, sort of like when the pharaohs held a monopoly and hoarded their gold with their dead body in pyramids.
And for some reason, people automatically think of pyramids when they are approached about a work-from-home job or multi-level marketing opportunity.
But actually a job is more of a pyramid because most of the time the owners and presidents of the company are the only ones getting rich while the managers and regular employees struggle to get by.
Network marketing levels the playing field and makes every one an owner of his or her own business, which has great tax advantages, and their success is based on their efforts.
Be proactive, follow the system and you get rich. Complain and wait on others to move up and you fail.
Many network marketers are finding success and true financial security, more than they ever had on a job.
Network marketing has produced more millionaires than any other industry in recent years.
The idea of network marketing is for a person to find people who want more out of life to join the opportunity and work part-time following a system to create an ongoing monthly residual income to get ahead
of the bills and possibly to be wealthy.
The majority of people will never be wealthy on a job.
But being wealthy is pointless if you’re unhealthy. My 81-year-old grandfather likes to say, “If you have your health, than you have wealth. Lord, give me my health and I have wealth.” He uses the analogy of how a man could be a billionaire, but he can’t reach over on his nightstand and grab the phone due to his illness.
I like the fact that my network marketing opportunity is part of the $1 trillion health and wellness industry that is more profitable than oil. With this particular company, I can move ahead of the person who recruited me, so he can’t just sit back and get rich off me. I also like the new incentive to get any model Mercedes Benz, my dream car manufacturer, when I reach a certain level, and how I am close to being among the reps to qualify for a trip for two to Hawaii. With other work-from-home opportunities, I’ve earned trips to Alaska, the Bahamas and Beverly Hills, but I’ve never been to Hawaii and I look forward to it.
If you want to learn more about my company so you can be healthy, wealthy and earn a trip for two to Hawaii, read on for videos and testimonials.Add me on Facebook!

January 27th, 2010Life, Money, lose weight
If you’ve failed at dieting and you’re thinking about going under the knife, let me tell you there’s a safer way to lose weight and be healthy on the inside.
You can drop three dress or pant sizes in 2-3 months with no diet, pills, exercise or surgery.
It works for men and women.

I’ve gone from a size 22 to a size 14/16 while keeping my same eating habits and with no exercise, and my mom has gone from a size 16 to a size 10.
And we look and feel great.
How would you like to get back into your smaller clothes, be healthy and make money at the same time?
The company that enabled my mother and I to drop at least three sizes is offering $500,000 in bonuses to each person who joins and commits to following the easy system.
You’re welcome to contact me about losing the weight and making $500,000. Just send me an email to teneshia@mytensense.com.By Teneshia LaFaye

January 1st, 2010Life, Money, What My Mom Taught Me About Money
By now you’ve made your New Year’s Resolutions. But are they goals or dreams?
Dreams are what you hope to accomplish, but you haven’t really figured out how you’re going to get it done. Dreams may be to lose weight, make more money or get out of debt.
Goals are specifically what you plan to accomplish and you probably have some idea how to achieve them. A goal may be to lose 20 pounds, to make $5,000 extra or to pay off $10,000 in credit card debt. And if you’re still in school, make As and Bs.
Goals are more likely to materialize than dreams because you have identified your target instead of some generic, unspecific dream.
But don’t expect to reach your New Year’s goals or dreams unless you make a game plan to form daily habits to achieve them.
An NFL team can’t just say it’s going to the Super Bowl. The head coach and his staff has to set specific goals and make a plan to reach those goals, such as winning three out of every four games and winning the division, which would produce a 12-4 record and likely home field advantage in the playoffs to have a better shot at being in the Super Bowl.
But an NFL team also has to break down the goals to the basics of what it takes to even win a single game, such as players’ daily eating and work out habits, daily work on technique, daily analyzing video on opponents, daily strategy meetings and daily practicing of critical situations in a game. These daily activities help a team form habits that will materialize in victories and possibly a Super Bowl.
So in order to reach your New Year’s Resolution, you have to specifically identify what you want to achieve and make a game plan.
But along the way, you will be tempted to get off track, but that’s only because you didn’t identify a strong enough reason why you want to accomplish your goal. So make sure you understand what you hope to do with what you have once you reach your goal.
I actually recognized what I wanted to change in 2010 at the end of last year, but I didn’t know how I was going to do it. Now I do after spending the last four days of 2009 out-of-town with the young president of a company that I plan to work from home to reach my goals.
This young president and his mentor (who each own their own private planes, sports cars and hefty bank accounts) personally took time out of their holidays to teach me how to identify my goals and maximize my potential by making a game plan of daily habits. They treated me like family and we look forward to building on our friendship to help me stay focused on the daily habits that are required to reach my goals.
One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to earn $300,000 from the young millionaire’s company. $300,000 seems like a lot for some people and for others not much. But hey, it’s my goal, not yours.
To make a game plan for my goal, I had to break down how much I need to make per month and then per week and figure out how many sales I need to make per day.
So now I know in order to make $300,000, I have to form the habits of making 40 phone calls a day, setting 6 appointments a day and making 13 sales per week for 48 weeks (because I plan on going on four week-long vacations) to make $300,000 this year with one company. I know I’ll be tempted to get off track, so I have also detailed everything I plan to do with the $300,000 so that I stay the course even when I’ve made $150,000, which is double what I made last year but not enough to do everything I want.
If your resolution is to lose 20-50 pounds, you have to break it down to how much weight to lose per month and per week and what daily habits produce the weight loss, such as specific eating habits and exercises. And also figure out what you want to do once you have lost the weight.
To be successful at reaching your goals, you have to make habits of doings things you don’t normally feel comfortable doing because if doing what you’re comfortable with created what you really want, you would already have it. Eventually, you will feel comfortable with your new habits and achieve your goal.
However, being successful also requires constant growth and therefore changed habits or you will stay where you’re at.
For instance, I made a goal to be the No. 1 agent with another company in 2009, and I achieved that goal to build a brand new house, pay off my debt, publish my first book and take my family on a lot of great vacations, such as Barack Obama’s inauguration, Michael Jackson’s memorial, Disney World birthday celebration and a Bahamas cruise for being the No. 1 agent.
But since that company decreased its compensation and increased my responsibilities, I quit and sought another work-from-home opportunity to achieve even greater results, and I’ve found it and have made a game plan to be even more successful in 2010.
By sharing one of my New Year’s Resolutions and how I plan to achieve it, I hope you have an idea of what it takes to make your New Year’s Resolutions come to pass. Don’t just say what you want. Make a game plan and work on it daily.

The Senate approved its health care reform bill as promised on the eve of Christmas to help cover most of the estimated 50 million Americans shut out because of high premiums and pre-existing medical conditions.
The bill wasn’t supported by any Republicans, who think the government should stay out of the insurance business. But it was backed by the American Medical Association, which normally opposes health care overhaul.
However, the battle for universal health care isn’t over yet. It’s just beginning because now a committee has to merge the Senate’s newly approved health care bill and the bill from the House, which was approved in November.
A final health care bill that meets the approval of the House and the Senate is expected to be drafted and voted on by the end of January so that universal health care is officially approved in time for President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address.
Contrary to the lies spewed by members of the Republican party, universal health care will not be a hand out as Medicaid and Medicare have been since being passed in 1965. And those who prefer private insurance and like their job benefits can keep their current insurance.
Health care reform is for the tens of millions left without insurance because it’s unaffordable or they have been turned down by insurance companies because of their health conditions.
Participants will be required to pay monthly premiums.
Yet before universal health care can be passed, the House and the Senate must agree on the final bill.
So far, the two groups in Congress agree on the following:
-government subsidies to help families making less than $90,000 per year pay for coverage
-health insurance exchanges to create a risk pool of small business, the self-employed and the unemployed to provide lower premiums
-insurance companies can’t turn a person down for pre-existing conditions or raise premiums because of medical history.
However, the House bill costs $1 trillion while the Senate bill costs $871 million, and they disagree on where the money will come from. The House would like to place higher taxes on individuals with annual incomes more than $500,000 and families making more than $1 million. The Senate wants to increase taxes on insurance companies for their higher-end health plans and increase Medicare payroll taxes on individuals making more than $250,000 annually. Both would like to make cuts to Medicare.
So the lies about working Americans footing the bill for the new health care are untrue because it’s the wealthy who would see increased taxes under the House and Senate bills.
As a successful insurance agent, I think it’s fantastic that insurance companies will no longer be allowed to turn individuals away because of their health and will no longer be allowed to jack up premiums after someone has a major illness.
And I don’t see a problem with wealthy Americans paying higher taxes to help uninsured Americans pay for, not be handed out, health care coverage. As the saying goes, to whom much is given, much is required.
What’s the point of being wealthy if you don’t help people who are trying to help themselves. Besides, the money isn’t going with the rich when they die, so they should use it for a good cause instead of booze, fancy houses and cars and women.By Teneshia LaFaye

I’ve been a successful agent in the health insurance industry for the last four years, and even I have been confused by Congress’ ongoing meetings about health care reform since the summer.
But I do know this. The Democrats received the 60 out of 100 Senate votes necessary to move closer to passing a health care bill that will enable 30 million of the estimated 50 million uninsured Americans to purchase affordable health insurance without being turned away for pre-existing conditions. The final vote for the $871 million health care overhaul is on Christmas Eve.
This is huge because, over the years, I’ve seen individuals unfairly pay $1,000 a month for health insurance because of their pre-existing conditions, and I’ve seen vibrant young men turned down for coverage because of a surgery they had in their past.
Now, those people will get a break because our country is deciding to take care of the regular working class by providing affordable, accessible health care.
The poor, the disabled and the elderly have already been taken care off by Medicaid and Medicare since President Lyndon B. Johnson signed those programs into law in 1965.
And soon President Barack Hussein Obama will sign a bill to take care of the millions of Americans who make too much to qualify for Medicaid and are too young for Medicare.
Once the health care bill is passed, I hope the insurance exchanges work similar to the new Medicare Advantage program that was passed in 2003. Medicare Advantage offers dozens of plans for senior citizens to choose from to cover hospitalization, doctor visits, surgery, dental, vision and prescriptions for no premium to a low monthly premium. Enrollment is Nov. 15-Dec. 31 of each year.
I look forward to learning more about the upcoming health care exchange so I can educate uninsured Americans as I have done with the senior community to provide peace of mind that health care coverage is available when they need it.By Teneshia LaFaye

December 16th, 2009Entertainment, Life, Money, Sports, Tiger Woods
I’ve never cared for Tiger Woods even though we’re the same age and he began his pro golf career as I began my sports writing career in the late 1990s.
I just never cared for his persona of being Mr. Perfect and the fact that he dissed the African-American culture on The Oprah Show by saying he considers himself a cablanasian and not a black man. But that’s a whole other story.

Despite not caring a flip about Tiger, I don’t get any satisfaction out of his name and family being dragged through the mud. For some reason, I actually feel empathy for him and especially his Swedish wife Elin, who has to come to grips with not one affair, but now 16 different mistresses and more are sure to come.
Tiger’s mess has spilled over into American households, where workers will lose their jobs to compensate for the major losses ahead for companies tied to the world’s No. 1 golfer. According to CNN, the billionaire golfer is estimated to have a $600 million impact on the U.S. economy.
Accenture LPC, which put all its eggs into Woods’ basket, has withdrawn its sponsorship. Golf analysts expect Tiger’s peers on the PGA Tour to take a big hit because tournament earnings will be much smaller without Woods on the course to bring in TV revenue. TV viewership was down 50 percent while Woods sat out with a knee injury last year.
Officials in Sheboygan County, Wisc., said Woods’ presence at the 2004 PGA Championship, brought $76 million to the state, and they expect to lose out on millions if the world’s No. 1 golfer is absent from the tournament in August.
But Tiger’s women will be just fine.
Since Tiger crashed his Cadillac Escalade into a fire hydrant to burst open a major sex scandal three weeks ago, 16 women have come forward about sleeping with him. Most of Tiger’s women have been paid by news organizations and tabloids to share their story. A few of them have been offered $1 million to pose nude. And it’s been speculated that even Tiger has chipped in to keep some of the women quiet.
But Elin Woods, who has been photographed out without her wedding ring, stands to profit the most. She already has bought a $2 million home on a Swedish island, and stands to get tens of millions for divorcing Tiger.
So we finally know that Tiger isn’t the goody two-shoes he always portrayed, and the women he has used, particularly his wife, are getting their piece of the billionaire’s success.By Teneshia LaFaye

President Barack Obama’s $8,000 housing credit for new homeowners was supposed to expire at the end of November, but Congress has graciously extended it until April 30, 2010 and added an incentive for current homeowners.
The housing credit is something to be thankful for because home prices have fallen tremendously to offer great deals and to re-ignite a failing housing market. And the credit extension enables people who are building a home to relax through the three to six month new construction process.
First-time homebuyers get up to an $8,000 credit that can be used for a down payment and closing costs, and current homeowners get up to $6,500 toward the purchase of another home if they have lived in their home for at least five years.
The $8,000 first-time homebuyer credit came in handy for me in because I was able to replenish my savings account after nearly depleting it from putting up a down payment and closing costs, paying off credit card debt and going on several vacations.

One of my favorite movies is former teen queen Hilary Duff’s The Cinderella Story. In the movie, there is a quote that liberated her character from her wicked stepmother and stepsisters.
The quote states, “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”
Yet many people let their fears stop them from pursuing their dreams. Their fear of failure. Their fear of not having the skill to succeed.

If Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron had let the fear of strikeouts keep them in the dugout, they wouldn’t have been home run kings. The Bambino and Hammerin’ Hank struck out more than they hit home runs, and they still are considered the greatest hitters of their time.
It’s a good thing they didn’t develop a fear for striking out, which would have kept them from ever swinging the bat.
The fear of striking out can be carried over into life, where we fear stepping into a new relationship, starting a business or leaving a stable, but unfulfilling job for a new career.
The Bible says that God does not give people a spirit of fear. Instead, He has given them a spirit of love, power and a sound mind, and He has instructed his followers to only fear Him.
I’ve always been one to challenge my fears.
I stepped out of a good-paying, stable journalism career to be a school teacher, and it gave me a chance to start a regional teen newspaper and web site and promote new movies.
Then, I stepped out into health insurance sales with no training and no commission for more than a month and quickly became one of the top producers in the company.
And then, I moved over to Medicare sales with no training and no pay for four months, but I was eventually paid what many people make in a year, and then I became the No. 1 producer for the company to make nearly six figures the following year.
Now, I’ve stepped out again to another type of insurance and another industry all together, and I have no fear because I have a history of stepping to the plate, striking out and eventually becoming a home run hitter.
So if you’ve been afraid to step out to work for yourself or to try a new career, I’m living proof that you will strike out a few times, but if you keep stepping up to the plate, you’ll eventually hit a lot out of the park and you will be so glad you didn’t let fear stop you.
You’re welcome to look into my newest opportunity to see if it’s for you, and I would be happy to be your teammate and help you conquer your fear.By Teneshia LaFaye

I can’t stand it when people complain about being broke and not having money for gas, their rent, etc.
I hate it even more when I am broke.
So instead of complaining to people who could care less, I make sure I’m not broke by going after opportunities to make more money than a job will ever pay.
God has given all of us the power to create wealth, so why do so many people behave like Moses’ people in the wilderness, by complaining about their circumstances, instead of thinking positive and grabbing hold of the Lord’s promise.
If you’re money is funny, do something about it. Do something that generates an extra income. Make money, not excuses.
Obama brought change to the White House, but you can’t sit around waiting to be rescued because that day won’t come unless you luck up and win the lottery or a family member dies and leaves you an inheritance.
Until then, pick yourself up and bring change to your house.
I haven’t worked a regular job in four years. By regular job, I mean reporting to a certain location every day in exchange for an hourly rate or salary. I’ve worked from home for the last four years, and haven’t had to worry about money. I’ve taken my family to the presidential inauguration, the Michael Jackson memorial, Alaska, Beverly Hills, New York, Las Vegas and Disney, plus Universal Studios every other month.
When I was on a regular job as a sports writer, I never had money, and I took staycations instead of vacations.
On my last work-from-home job, I became the No. 1 producer from the comfort of my home, and I nearly made six figures this year. When that job started requiring me to check in daily and report to a certain location two to three times a week, I decided to turn my attention to another opportunity. You’re welcome to check it out here.
There’s nothing wrong with having a regular job. I just choose not to have one because when I had one, I was always struggling to pay my bills and never had money for travel.
Now, I’m living. I’ve been on four vacations this year, and I only work four hours a day and have plenty of time every day to clean my new house, cook dinner, take naps, visit family, help my youngest son with his homework and run whatever errands I need to. I also have the money and time to leave town whenever I want. And I never have to make excuses for not being able to go somewhere or help somebody because my time is my own and I don’t have an employer taking up most of my time.
So it’s a blessing that I don’t have to complain about not having enough money for gas, food and other basic necessities. If a regular job isn’t paying for the necessities, it’s time to do something different.
I’m no better than anybody. However, unlike many people, I believe God’s promise that if I do the possible, He will do the impossible and if I trust Him, I will overflow with prosperity. The Lord has fulfilled that promise because I choose to live in blessing instead of complaining about lack.
So I would encourage anybody who is struggling in their finances to seek new opportunities. Do something different. Make a change. Or you will stay where you are, which is probably not where you want to be.By Teneshia LaFaye

If you’re unemployed or your job isn’t paying you enough to cover your bills, don’t worry.
I’ve been in your situation, but I tapped into the power God gave all of us to create wealth. I’m not rich, but I’m also not suffering one bit from this Great Recession.
You also don’t have to suffer through this recession and you certainly don’t have to wait on President Barack Obama or a New Year’s Resolution to fix your finances or to find a new career.
God has given you the power to create wealth. It says it in Deuteronomy 8:18 in The Bible.
You have the power to change your financial situation right now. So don’t toil around any longer worrying about how you’re going to pay your bills and put food on the table.
After Moses led God’s people out of slavery under Pharaoh, they could have immediately entered the Promised Land. But instead they wandered around the wilderness in rebellion and fear for 40 years before finally having the courage to seek God’s promise. Once in the Promised Land, they realized that they could have been there all of those years instead of languishing in the wilderness.
You also have the Promised Land right in front of you, and you just need to step out on faith and be willing to try a new financial opportunity, and I’ve got a great opportunity to help you generate a life-changing income before New Year’s.
So stop toiling around worried about your finances. Step out on faith and try this opportunity.By Teneshia LaFaye
