February 2nd, 2010Teneshia LaFayeEntertainment, Haiti, Michael Jackson

The stars literally have aligned in Michael Jackson’s favor.
First, the deceased King of Pop was honored on Sunday with a captivating 3-D tribute featuring Celine Dion, Smokey Robinson, Usher, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson to bestow the Grammys’ Lifetime Achievement Award.
Then, mega singers, rappers and actors united this week to remake “We Are the World”, a song MJ and Lionel Richie co-wrote in 1985 for USA for Africa to address famine in Ethiopia.

An accompanying video for the remake will be produced in 3-D and premiere on Feb. 12 to raise money for Haiti relief. Some of the featured singers are Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Gladys Knight, Toni Braxton, Usher, Lady Gaga, Pink, Kanye West, Jennifer Hudson, Lil Wayne, Jordin Sparks, Jeff Bridges, Tyrese and Wyclef Jean, a native of Haiti.

And in another move in Michael’s favor, police finally brought criminal charges against Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor responsible for Michael Jackson’s fatal prescription overdose last June, and Dr. Murray turned himself in Tuesday.

  • Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga set to battle at Grammys

Beyonce was on Taylor Swift’s side after Kanye West’s infamous protest that Beyonce should have won MTV’s Best Female Video award instead of Taylor.
But the two female singers will go head to head for the top awards (Album of The Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year) at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. Beyonce’s 10 Grammy nominations lead all artists followed by Taylor’s eight.
So what’s the difference between album, record and song of the year?
Well, Album of the Year judges the singer’s total compilation of songs on an album. Record of the Year rewards the singer of the best performance of a song, and Song of the Year honors the writer of the best song.
Lady Gaga, who has five Grammy nominations, was also nominated for the Grammys’ Album, Record and Song of the Year.

  • Michael Jackson created Avatar-like movie before James Cameron, MJ’s film to be in 3-D at Grammys

January 29th, 2010Teneshia LaFayeEntertainment, Michael Jackson

Avatar director James Cameron said he has a new admiration for trees and he’s getting a lot of credit for the special effects that created the amazing fantasy world of Pandora in his record-setting blockbuster movie.
But long before Cameron brought us Avatar, Michael Jackson wrote “Earth Song” in 1995 and performed in the accompanying video to urge us to stop destroying our environment.
Before he died in June, Michael had a mini-film created for “Earth Song” that was to be shown during his “This Is It” tour in London that never took place because of the pop star’s fatal doctor-induced prescription drug overdose.
Now, MJ’s “Earth Song” film will be shown at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday for the show’s first-ever 3-D performance. Show producer Ken Ehrlich said 3-D glasses can be picked up at local Target stores to view the Grammy’s tribute to Michael Jackson.

The film will be part of the Grammys’ tribute performances by Smokey Robinson, Usher, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Carrie Underwood to honor Michael with the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
In a scene from his “This Is It” movie that hit theaters last summer, Michael talks about the “Earth Song” film and parts of the film are revealed. One of the scenes is very similar to a scene in Avatar when the bulldozers come to plow through the greenery, except a little girl is nearly run over in “Earth Song”. In Avatar, Na’vi warrior Jake Sully is nearly plowed over.
But remember Michael Jackson thought of it first, and he wants all of us to do our part to save the environment. I’ve got my free 3-D glasses from Target to see Mike’s film. Now, go get yours.

  • Michael Jackson would be in Haiti if he were alive

    1
    scissors
January 19th, 2010Teneshia LaFayeEntertainment, Haiti, Life, Michael Jackson

It’s no secret to Michael Jackson fans that he was very generous to the needy and sick children.
In 2000, the King of Pop was crowned King of Charity by the Guiness Book of World Records for donating more money to charity than any pop star. He donated to 39 different organizations, including Camp Ronald McDonald, Juvenile Diabetes Association and Make-A-Wish Foundation. He also had his own charities, such as Heal The World and Heal The World Kids.
And of course, MJ co-wrote the chart-topping, Grammy Award winning charity song “We Are The World” with Lionel Richie in 1986.

Dozens of legendary singers lent their voices to “We Are The World” to provide hope and to encourage everyone to “start giving” to charity and make the world a better place for every human being because “we are all part of God’s great big family” and by giving “we’re saving our own lives”.

There’s no doubt that Michael Jackson would be helping out in Haiti, where a massive earthquake left at least 100,000 dead and millions homeless last week, if he had not died from a doctor-induced drug overdose in June.
Michael and his pop star little sister Janet Jackson were reportedly supposed to perform in Haiti in 2008, and former U.S. president Bill Clinton praised Michael during a summer trip to Haiti following the King of Pop’s death.
Janet Jackson is actively seeking donations for the victims in Haiti through her Twitter page. She tweeted “$8 can feed a child for a whole month” and gave three options for giving.
    - Call 1-800-HELP-NOW
    - Text “Haiti” to 90999 to donate $10 to the American Red Cross
    - Text “Yele” to 501501 to donate $5 to Haitian American hip hop star Wyclef’s Yele Haiti non-profit organization.

Michael Jackson would be proud to know that his sister is stepping up in his place along with many other celebrities, such as George Clooney, Diddy, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and supermodel Gisele Bundchen. U.S. President Barack Obama has pledged $100 million toward Haiti relief.
But Michael Jackson would say that it shouldn’t just be left up to celebrities to help in the Haiti crisis. This is a world issue and everybody should chip in whatever they can, even $5, $8 or $10.
In MJ’s This Is It movie, he stated, “Everybody says, ‘Oh they’ll take care of it. The government will intervene.’ But it starts with us.”
Say what you want about his personal life, but Michael Jackson would be right there in Haiti lending a hand because he believed in loving each other and doing what you can to help your fellow man, even if the person is in another land.

  • Michael Jackson and his fans get late holiday gift

    0

December 22nd, 2009Teneshia LaFayeEntertainment, Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson’s princely manners are on display in his This Is It movie that won’t be on DVD in time for Christmas.
However, MJ and his fans finally get to see the King of Pop’s reputation restored with the recent suicide of the father who forced his son to lie about being sexually assaulted by the pop star.
Michael Jackson’s fantasy life came crashing down in 1993 when 13-year-old Jordan Chandler and his father Evan falsely accused the pop icon of child molestation.
Much like with the current Tiger Woods scandal, the world eagerly came down on an insanely wealthy, legendary black man who finally showed a chink in his armor.
Many people were quick to believe MJ molested the little boys who visited his 2,500-acre Neverland Ranch that included an amusement park and a zoo, and Michael paid $22 million to the Chandlers to quiet the noise from a year-long police probe/media circus and return to his peaceful existence.
Although Michael sent millions to children’s charities and started his own foundations for kids, the King of Pop remained tormented by the molestation allegations for the remainder of his life, and he was falsely accused by another boy in 2004.

After Michael died of a doctor-induced drug overdose in June, Jordan Chandler, now 29 years old, admitted that his father, who was a Beverly Hills dentist at the time, made him lie about being molested by the pop icon to extort money.
In MJ’s This Is It movie, people were finally able to see Michael’s unscripted patience, kindness, humility and love. Evan Chandler witnessed it firsthand and saw an opportunity to take advantage of the pop star’s unusually unselfish, unconditional love for children that made up for his lost childhood traveling with his big brothers in the Jackson Five.
But Michael has been redeemed in death because Evan Chandler squandered all of his money and killed himself with a single bullet to his head in November, not long after his son came clean about the lies. It’s sad when someone takes his or her life, but I guess Evan Chandler reaped what he sowed for stealing part of Michael’s life.

  • Korean Michael Jackson copies real life in new movie Ninja Assassin

    7
    scissors
November 15th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeEntertainment, Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, Rain

Mega Korean pop star Rain, who fashions his style after his favorites Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson, plays the lead role in new movie Ninja Assassin.

In Ninja Assassin, Rain’s character, Raizo, faces challenges eerily similar to the singer/actor’s real-life upbringing.
Rain, whose birth name is Jeong Ji-Hoon, grew up in poverty when his father left the family for better opportunities in Brazil. His mother died of diabetes complications when he was a teenager, and he often was beaten up on the streets while trying to get in with street dancers.
He was signed to be a part of Korean boy band, Fanclub, and said he and his bandmates were treated like caged animals as they were locked up and forced to rehearse for 10 hours without food.
Rain eventually broke away to become a solo star who sparks comparisons between himself and American pop stars Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson, the King of Pop who died on the Asian star’s birthday. His last American stop at New York’s Madison Square Garden in 2006 sold out immediately and so did a subsequent concert to accommodate the interest.

Honestly, I had never heard of Rain until Transformers actress Megan Fox went gaga over him while promoting the second Transformers movie in Asia this past summer.
Rain’s streets-to-stardom life mirrors his Ninja Assassin character because Raizo is taken from the streets, treated like a commodity and forced to perform and breaks away to become the deadliest assassin in the world.
Ninja Assassin hits American theaters on Nov. 25. View the trailer:

  • Michael Jackson was not murdered

    0

August 29th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeEntertainment, Michael Jackson

    Michael Jackson
With Michael Jackson’s death being labeled a homicide, naturally people assume he was purposely murdered and that the prime suspect, his personal doctor Dr. Conrad Murray, is a murderer.
But homicide isn’t so black and white.
A homicide is when one human dies as the result of another human’s or their own actions, such as suicide. Accidental deaths and fatal car accidents are also homicides as well as involuntary manslaughter when a person kills to avoid being harmed or killed. And of course, there’s cold-blooded, pre-mediated murder.
Michael Jackson’s doctor is not being investigated for murder. He’s being investigated for manslaughter, which means he is suspected of being responsible for the King of Pop’s death, after giving MJ a lethal mixture of several drugs, including Propofol, to help the distressed pop star fall asleep. Dr. Murray was paid $100,000 per month by Michael’s comeback tour promoters to keep the icon in top physical condition.
So there’s no murder plot or scheme for Michael’s money that is being investigated at this time. It’s just a case of medical negligence that has led to a manslaughter homicide of one of the greatest performers of all time.

  • Michael Jackson’s birthday celebrated by McDonald’s, BET and movie producer

August 29th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeEntertainment, Michael Jackson

    Michael in concert
In the two months since Michael Jackson’s death, there have been rumors that he’s still alive, which have heated up because his body has yet to be buried.
But dead or alive, fans all across the world are celebrating the King of Pop’s birthday today. He would have been 51 had he not died of a doctor-supplied over dosage of the drug Propofol while trying to sleep in his Beverly Hills home in the midst of training for a comeback tour.
Michael celebrated his 50th birthday last year by watching cartoons at home with his three children, Prince Michael, Paris Katherine and Blanket.
    Michael
This year, his birthday will be celebrated by the masses. McDonald’s has planned a celebration at its Holland location, and BET has scheduled a full day of tribute shows and videos for the King of Pop. Movie producer and New York City native Spike Lee has planned a block party celebration for MJ at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, N.Y.
    Michael as a boy
Lee, who directed Michael’s “They Don’t Care About Us” video, expects a crowd of 10,000. Brooklyn’s mayor will be on hand to declare Michael Jackson Day, and Rev. Al Sharpton will deliver a eulogy as he did at MJ’s funeral and public memorial in early July.
At the McDonald’s in Holland, there will be stage performances, a laser light show, pyrotechnic effects and and mega video screens projecting the best of Michael.
    Michael in Thriller
Celebrating Michael’s life is the right gesture for a man who achieved musical immortality by revolutionizing singers’ wardrobes, dance routines, music videos, concerts and much more. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Michael Jackson has achieved more in 50 years than most people do in a 100-year lifetime.

  • Michael Jackson’s doctor opens up on youTube

August 19th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeEntertainment, Michael Jackson

Dr. Conrad Murray and Michael Jackson
You’ve heard the saying that the truth will set you free, but that’s not the case with the doctor under investigation for the suspected murder of the King of Pop.
Dr. Conrad Murray, who was paid $100,000 per month to be Michael Jackson’s personal physician as the pop star trained for a 50-night comeback tour in London, is a prisoner in his own home that police have raided for evidence in the manslaughter case against him.
Dr. Murray said he can’t even use the phone or email because of threatening calls and messages from MJ’s supporters.
So he released a video on youTube on Tuesday in which he thanked his supporters and explained that he told the truth to the investigators, and he stated that the truth will prevail.

Dr. Murray has admitted to police to giving Michael the drug Propofol, a strong sedative that is usually restricted to hospital operating rooms, to help the pop star sleep, and the doctor thought it would be okay to slip out of Michael’s bedroom at the singer’s Beverly Hills’ home to make phone calls. Of course, Michael never awoke from his sleep on June 25. His death was originally ruled a heart attack, but now officials suspect Propofol is what killed him. His autopsy records have been sealed, and all signs point to Dr. Murray.
Dr. Murray said he has faith that “the truth will prevail”, but unless his innocence is proven in a courtroom, he will be considered guilty by the public and remain a prisoner in his own home.

  • Michael Jackson and Elvis offer great money lesson

    7
    scissors
August 17th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeEntertainment, Life, Michael Jackson, Money

    Elvis and Michael
Best-selling author Robert Kiyosaki preaches that residual and passive income is the key to wealth.
Elvis Pressley and Michael Jackson are great examples of the wealth that can be generated through residual income.
Residual income is when a person creates something, such as a song, book etc, and keeps getting paid over and over again. Passive income is when a person hires others to work and generate money while the person is away enjoying life. Linear income rarely produces wealth because a person only makes money by the hour worked or by the sale, and 95% of Americans work in this category.
Elvis Presley, who died 32 years ago on Sunday, made $52 million between October 2007 and October 2008 through record sales, merchandise, tours of his Graceland home and other creations from the King of Rock.
Of course, Elvis is dead, contrary to what his diehard fans think, but nevertheless, his work has created a residual income for his estate and a passive income for his only child, Michael Jackson’s first wife Lisa Marie Presley.
    Lisa Marie and Michael Jackson
Now, Michael Jackson, who would have turned 51 on Aug. 28, is expected to knock Elvis from the No. 1 spot on the list of richest dead celebrities. Since the King of Pop’s death on June 25, sales of his records have topped the sales charts, and MJ is estimated to be worth $1 billion in death, which creates residual and passive income for his mother and three children.
    Michael in concert
You don’t have to be as uniquely talented as Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley to create residual and passive income, and you certainly don’t have to die.
Network marketing is the way to create residual and passive income, according to Robert Kiyosaki and billionaire real estate developer Donald Trump, who co-wrote a financial advice book together.
In network marketing, a person makes a small initial investment for the right to create a customer base to sell a company’s products for a profit and also to recruit people to create a customer base to sell products and to recruit more people to do the same. This creates residual and passive income because the person making the initial investment receives a monthly check that reflects automatic sales from the customer base and from sales of people that person recruited to also create a customer base and a group of salespeople to do the same.
Network marketing produces $2,000-$400,000 per month incomes for part-time hours working from home and it has created more millionaires in the last few years than any other industry.
If you’re in a linear income job that doesn’t pay the bills and doesn’t allow you to have the lifestyle you want, you definitely should consider network marketing to create residual and passive income that could make you very wealthy.
I’ve got a great network marketing opportunity that is different from most others because of the amazing $60,000 bonuses for reaching easy company goals, which eventually will lead to even more money in residual and passive income. To learn more about this opportunity, click here.
