We know that everyone deserves a second chance, and it appears that Chris Brown’s female fans have forgiven him for beating the crap out of his former girlfriend Rihanna a year ago.
Girls and young women blew kisses at the sexy singer and screamed continuously as Chris sang “Crawl” from his new album, Graffiti, and “With You” from his previous album during the SOS: Help for Haiti concert in Miami. The concert was televised live on MTV, BET and VH-1 to raise money for Haiti, where massive earthquakes left 100,000 dead and millions homeless.
The screaming started before he even sang and the noise was so loud that Chris pulled out his ear pieces before beginning his first song.

Before performing, Chris wore a cool “Don’t Hate on Haiti” T-shirt while he mingled with other celebrities in attendance, such as Brian McKnight and L.L. Cool J.

  • Rihanna says “I’m a devil worshipper”, discusses Jay-Z, fascination with boobies, flirting with girls

Rihanna’s good girl image has definitely gone bad.
She hoped to set an example for young women in violent relationships by leaving Chris Brown and telling her account of her abuse at the hands of the R&B singer earlier this year.
But domestic violence is the only area Rihanna, whose new album is appropriately titled Rated R, expects to be a role model.

In a recent interview with New York City radio host Angie Martinez, Rihanna opened up about her fascination with grabbing other women’s boobs, flirting and dancing with girls at clubs, getting wasted and of course Chris Brown and the old rumors of getting between Jay-Z and Beyonce.

Rihanna also addressed speculation that she is part of the Illuminati, an underground group of the world elite who worship the devil and attempt to control the world.
Rihanna just sounds like many other 21-year-old women, only her actions are under the microscope because she is a celebrity and is considered a role model to young girls, whether she likes it or not.
Listen to her no-holds barred radio interview.

  • Chris Brown goes on tirade, worse than Jersey Shore girl beater

December 11th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeChris Brown, Entertainment, Rihanna

New York City gym teacher Brad Ferro has been vilified for being caught on tape delivering a single knock-out punch to one of the women in a bar on MTV reality show Jersey Shore.
But imagine if singer Chris Brown’s beating of his pop star ex Rihanna had been caught on tape. Brown delivered multiple punches, bit and threatened to kill Rihanna last February.
Chris’ career took a dive this year while he faced trial on two felony charges for the incident, and now he’s trying to bounce back with his newly released album, Graffiti, which is No. 2 on Itunes, with popular songs “Transform Ya” and “Crawl”.
However, some stores are refusing to stock his new album that was released Tuesday, and Chris recently went on a profanity-filled Twitter tirade to prove that he hasn’t changed much from the man who abused Rihanna. But after several days of rants, Chris has canceled his Twitter account.
But Brad deserves a break from all of the backlash.
After all, Chris was not drunk and was well aware of his actions, and Brad was clearly drunk when he slugged Nicole Polizzi during their barroom dispute in August. He has been fined $500 for pleading guilty to simple assault and taking anger management classes, like Brown. His former North Queens High students are defending him, and he is using his brief error in judgment to warn students of the consequences of consuming alcohol.
Hopefully, Chris finally learns from his own temper tantrums and decides to become a role model for young men.

  • Rihanna and Chris Brown battle on TV

November 6th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeChris Brown, Entertainment, Rihanna

Rihanna has kept silent about the domestic violence attack that left her bitten and battered at the hands of her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February.

She even kept quiet while Chris sent out an “I’m not a monster” youTube video in June, released an apology video in July and then appeared on Larry King Live in September to talk about the incident.
Finally as the year draws to a close and with a new album out, Rihanna has decided to break her silence on Good Morning America.

During the interview with Diane Sawyer that has aired in pieces Thursday and Friday, Rihanna expressed embarrassment for dating Brown and going back to him even after a gruesome leaked LAPD photo of her bloody, battered face. She said she realized that she risked the lives of young girls who admired her and may have decided to stay with their abusive boyfriends because of the pop star’s example. After Sawyer said it normally takes a woman seven attempts to leave an abusive relationship, Rihanna said it took her 8 or 9 attempts to leave Chris Brown.
Rihanna’s full Good Morning America interview airs on ABC’s 20/20 at 10 p.m. Friday. But before that, Chris Brown, who has given several radio interviews, will have his MTV interview aired at 6 p.m.
Brown’s new album, Graffiti, is scheduled to be released in December. Rihanna’s album, Rated R, is set to be released later this month. So the two hitmakers will likely continue to battle it out on record charts.

  • Chris Brown still in love, says he and Rihanna like Romeo and Juliet

September 4th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeChris Brown, Entertainment, Rihanna

I taught Shakespeare during my brief time as a high school English teacher, and I don’t recall Romeo beating Juliet or being put on probation for the crime.
Yet on a Larry King Live interview that aired Wednesday, hip hop singer Chris Brown described his former relationship with pop singer Rihanna as being like Romeo and Juliet because the media, including Oprah Winfrey, and some celebrities, such as Jay-Z and Kanye West, wanted the hot couple to break up after the singers canceled their Grammy Awards appearances when Chris was arrested on two felony charges for an altercation with Rihanna on the night before.
    Chris and Rihanna
Chris recently received a plea deal that includes five years probation, six months of hard community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling. He also was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Rihanna for the next five years unless they’re at a music industry event.
But Chris revealed on Larry King that he never fell out of love with Rihanna.
Chris also had an interview with People magazine. He said he has apologized to Rihanna numerous times, and he gave her a copy of his “Changed Man” song that he wrote for her shortly after being arrested for beating, biting and threatening her. Listen to the “>song .
Chris also told People mag that he felt betrayed by Oprah, who aired a special on domestic violence dedicated to the Rihannas of the world shortly after the incident in March. The “Forever” singer performed at Oprah’s girls school in Africa and felt she gave him a slap in the face with the domestic violence show rather than try to give him and Rihanna. On the show, Oprah insisted that Rihanna should leave Chris before she suffers further harm.
Chris admitted to People and on Larry King that it’s hard to be court-ordered to stay away from the woman he never stopped loving.
    Chris and Rihanna
But Chris knows he has to keep his distance from his ex, and he looks forward to a friendship although from a distance.
At least Chris gets to talk to Rihanna when she answers his calls and observe her getting her life back together. Romeo and Juliet had a much unhappier ending.

  • Chris Brown depressed, could go to prison

August 26th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeChris Brown, Entertainment, Rihanna

    Chris Brown in court
Poor, Chris Brown. He admits to fighting depression ever since being arrested on two felony charges for beating his ex, pop star Rihanna, last February.
But L.A. Superior Court judge Patricia Schnegg showed no leniency when the “Forever” singer appeared in her courtroom on Tuesday. She sentenced him to six months of hard physical labor instead of community service, which would have allowed the 20-year-old hip hop star to mentor youth.
And Judge Schnegg expressed displeasure in news reports that Chris violated a stay-away order by being in the same circles as Rihanna, such as the NBA playoffs, a Trump hotel in N.Y. and restaurants on Broadway in Times Square.
So she reinforced an order that Chris stay at least 1,000 yards away from his ex for the next five years unless they are at a music industry event in which Chris can be within 10 yards of her.
    Rihanna and Chris Brown
During Tuesday’s hearing, it was revealed that Chris and Rihanna had two previous violent encounters before the February incident on the night before the Grammy Awards in L.A. Three months prior while traveling in Europe, Rihanna slapped Chris and he shoved her into a wall. Then in Rihanna’s native Barbados, Chris broke the windows out of a Range Rover they had rented. The incidents weren’t reported until the trial.
Taking into account Chris’ past violent incidents, the judge also ordered him to undergo a year of domestic violence counseling.
If he successfully follows through with his sentencing, Chris’ two felonies will be reduced to misdemeanors. But if he violates any of the orders, the judge said he will be sent to prison.
I’m hoping Chris fulfills the conditions of his probation and gets his depression and anger under control because he has so much talent that he could rebound into a shining example for young men.

  • Chris Brown faces jail time, hit “Forever” song could save him

    0
    scissors
August 6th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeChris Brown, Entertainment

    Chris Brown at trial
Chris Brown’s legal troubles for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna appeared to be over in June when an L.A. County judge sentenced him to five years probation, six months of community service and one-year of domestic violence counseling.
But the hip hop singer isn’t in the clear yet.
Chris was back in court Wednesday because Judge Jeanine Pirro hasn’t signed off on her sentencing. She is waiting for Chris, 20, to produce documents of his plans for the court-ordered 1,400 hours of community service. He has to appear back in court on Aug. 27 to lay out a detailed plan for community service or else he could face a tougher penalty, such as jail time.
So the apology tape Chris released last month isn’t enough to show remorse for beating, biting and threatening the life of pop star Rihanna during the couple’s quarrel the night before the Grammy Awards in February.
Maybe Chris should work on a new video with the newlyweds who recently gained fame for dancing down the aisle to Brown’s “Forever” hit song. Chris’ songs have been blacklisted by radio stations since the incident with his ex. Wrigley’s immediately pulled its Doublemint Gum commercial featuring Chris dancing to his “Forever” song. His court fight and blacklisting is leading to financial troubles, but he is working on a new album Graffiti.
But Chris is back on the charts and has raked in sales for his “Forever” song because it was played as Jill and Kevin Heinz and their wedding party danced up the aisle during the couple’s wedding last month.

The couple is using the new publicity to turn attention toward their domestic violence cause. They are asking for donations on JKweddingdance.com to benefit the Sheila Wellstone Institute, which has several programs to end violence against women of all races. Donations can be made directly on the institute’s site.
The “Forever” singer should contact the Wellstone Institute to see how he can lend his voice to the cause. It would certainly count toward well-spent community service hours and show the female judge deciding his fate that he truly is remorseful for his crime against a woman.

  • Rihanna and Chris Brown stay in N.Y. hotel and dine in theater district

July 31st, 2009Teneshia LaFayeChris Brown, Entertainment, Rihanna

    Chris Brown and Rihanna
Chris Brown is coming very close to violating his probation in a plea deal for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
As part of his stay-out-of jail deal on two felony charges for beating Rihanna in February, Brown was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from her. But the exes keep running in the same social circles, including last weekend.
    chris in court
    Rihanna in court
After hearing the judge’s order in June, Rihanna said the order is unneccesary because she doesn’t need further protection from Chris.
But the court order still stands, and Ri-Ri and Chris have been pushing the boundaries for the last week.
Last weekend, they checked into separate rooms at the Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York’s Columbus Circle, and they were chaffeured in separate cars in and out of the hotel’s underground garage for two days. Then last Tuesday, the exes ate at separate restaurants across the street from each other on Broadway in N.Y’s theater district. If Rihanna complains to the police, Chris can be arrested in violation of his plea deal. But it’s unlikely.
Chris, 20, and Rihanna, 21, began dating in 2007 and the singers denied their relationship despite many vacation photos together and sitting together at several awards shows.
    Rihanna and Chris
    Rihanna and Chris
    Chris and Rihanna
They also performed together on several occassions, most notably the 2007 MTV VMA Awards in which Rihanna appeared in the middle of Brown’s performance to sing her No. 1 hit “Umbrella” while Chris circled her.

Rihanna and Chris were scheduled to perform at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards in L.A. in February, but cancelled when Brown was arrested the night before for beating, biting and threatening to kill Rihanna inside his rented Lamborghini.
The couple briefly re-united in Ri-Ri’s rented Hollywood Hills home and then at Diddy’s Star Island mansion in Miami before quietly pulling away from each other as Chris awaited trial for the beating. Ever since, Rihanna has been linked to Lil’ Wayne’s protege, Canadian rapper Drake and hip hop star Kanye West, and Chris has been seen out with Rihanna-look-alike Teyana Taylor and West’s on-again, off-again lover Amber Rose.
In June, Chris and Ri-Ri sat in the same row during an NBA Finals game in Orlando between the Magic and L.A. Lakers.
A week ago, Chris released an public apology video for beating Rihanna and said he asked for her forgiveness multiple times. Earlier this week, he was spotted in a somber mood while waiting in a car after dining at a restaurant across the street from where Rihanna was eating on Broadway in New York.
So it appears that Ri-Ri and Chris just can’t stay away from each other, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they find their way back together once their careers get back on track.

  • Chris Brown’s apology video doesn’t hold up to his reality footage

    0
    scissors
July 26th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeChris Brown, Entertainment, Rihanna

    Chris Brown
Chris Brown’s apology video for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna should be taken with a grain of salt.
Anyone can sit in front of a camera and claim to be repented. It’s more telling how he behaves when he isn’t performing for the camera, where the hip hop singer owns the stage with his alluring dance moves and catchy lyrics. In case you missed it, here is Chris’ apology video:

I put more credence in watching Chris behave when he doesn’t know a camera is filming him. I just watched an episode of MTV’s “Punk’d”, where Chris’ mom helped Ashton Kutcher pull a prank on the “Forever” singer. A scowl immediately formed on Chris’ face while being punked at a restaurant, and he used foul language toward a woman and threatened violence against a man.

A similar scowl was on Chris’ face as he hid behind a hood as cameras trailed him and Rihanna out of a pre-Grammy party in February as they walked to Chris’ rented Lamborghini in which he cussed a female reporter as he drove off and ended up fleeing the vehicle after badly beating Rihanna.
Hopefully, Chris’ court-mandated domestic violence classes are taking root in his psyche and he truly transforms from stooping to violence to settle feuds.
Owning up to his behavior is a step in the right direction.
Chris’ fans already have forgiven him, so the apology video was meant for the millions who aren’t rabid supporters of the baby-faced, swift-footed singer to erase the five months of bad publicity from his arrest, felony hearing and plea deal for badly beating a woman, pop star Rihanna.
    Chris and Rihanna
The video also was made to restore Chris’ charming and good-boy reputation that attracted endorsement deals for Wrigley’s Doublemint Gum and the Got Milk campaign before the corporations bailed on Chris following his arrest for the violent altercation with his ex.
So his unscripted actions, not an apology video, will indicate whether Chris is truly repented and not just sorry for getting caught on tape.

  • Chris Brown says “Oops” about beating Rihanna

    2

July 13th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeChris Brown, Entertainment, Rihanna

    Chris Brown partying
When you accidentally bump into someone’s shoulder or back, you may respond,”Oops, my bad”.
The same can’t be said when you purposely beat someone in the face with your fists and bite their body with your teeth as Chris Brown was accused of doing to then-girlfriend Rihanna in a couple’s quarrel a week before Valentine’s Day this year.
But a month after receiving a deal for pleading guilty, Chris has been sporting a gaudy “Oops!” chain that is encrusted with diamonds and sapphires. The chain cost $300,000 and took a Beverly Hills jeweler 218 hours to make.
    Ooops chain
Just curious. Does it mean “Oops” I made a mistake by beating my girlfriend or “Oops, I did it again”?
It’s probably the first one, but daily flowers or a sweet apology song on his upcoming Graffiti album would make the “Kiss, Kiss” star look more remorseful for bruising Rihanna’s pretty face than “Oops”. Maybe he’s making amends in a weird way with Rihanna look-a-like Teyana Taylor, who he’s been photographed with at parties and an NBA Finals game.
