  • Beyonce voted for best body, but men want to bed Megan Fox

Hollywood studio 20th Century Fox polled 2,000 people to find the female celebrity with the best body and best physical assets to promote their movie, Jennifer’s Body, that stars Megan Fox.

The studio probably thought Megan, who also stars in the Transformers movies, had the advantage because the poll tied into a movie featuring her. Plus, women voted Megan the most enviable body in Heat magazine last year and she was voted the world’s sexiest women in 2008 and 2009.

But Beyonce was the winner in 20th Century Fox’s poll. She received the most votes for best body, best bootie, best boobs and best legs.

However, Megan was named the woman that men would most like to bed.

Megan already is self-conscious about her body and recently revealed that she isn’t pleased to look like a “pinup” in her ads for Emporio Armani underwear.

Incidentally, Megan replaced Beyonce as Armani’s female celebrity spokesmodel last year. But men and women think Beyonce looks better in underwear.

  • Beyonce sets Grammys record, finally acknowledges Jay-Z as her husband, sings Alanis Morissette’s No. 1 hit

    February 1st, 2010Teneshia LaFayeBeyonce, Entertainment, Jay-Z

Jay-Z and Beyonce dance around talking publicly about their eight-year relationship, but they finally acknowledged their nearly two-year marriage on music’s biggest stage, the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, on Sunday.
After winning a Grammy for Best Pop Vocalist for “Halo”, Beyonce said she wanted to thank her “family for all of their support, including my husband. I love you.” Jay-Z raised his hands in giddy astonishment from his front row seat next to their nephew, the son of Beyonce’s younger sister Solange. B must have been so smitten by Jay because she didn’t realize that it was her sixth Grammy of the night, a record for a female artist.
In 2004, Beyonce won five Grammys off her debut album to tie the previous record shared by Alicia Keys, Norah Jones and Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse and Alison Kraus.
Beyonce’s six Grammys on Sunday make her the most decorated woman in one night in the Grammys’ 52-year history. But she lost out to Taylor Swift for Album of the Year to end the night. Taylor won for her Fearless album and the 20-year-old was so surprised that she said she will tell her future grandchildren, when she’s 80, about her victory.
Beyonce won the first major Grammy of the night, Song of the Year, for co-writing “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It), which inspired men, women, children and other singers, such as Justin Timberlake and Joe Jonas, to make their own videos of her song. She wasn’t able to accept the Song of the Year award because she was backstage preparing for her performance. She marched through the audience with an all-male army and sang “If I Were a Boy”. In the middle of her song, she transitioned to Canadian singer Alanis Morissette’s 1995 No. 1 hit song, “You Ought to Know”, and then fell back to “If I Were a Boy” to end her performance.

Here’s Alanis Morisette’s performance of “You Ought to Know” at the 38th Annual Grammys.

Incidentally, Alanis Morisette became the youngest to win the Grammys’ Album of the Year until Taylor Swift’s victory Sunday night. At the time 21 years old, Alanis won for her debut album, Jagged Little Pill, which included “You Ought to Know”.
On Sunday night, Beyonce also won a Grammy for Best R&B Contemporary Album for I Am … Sasha Fierce.
Earlier in the night, Jay-Z brought his and Beyonce’s little nephew, Julez, to the stage with him and Rihanna to accept a Grammy for Best Rap/Song collaboration for “Run This Town”.

  • Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga set to battle at Grammys

January 29th, 2010Teneshia LaFayeBeyonce, Entertainment, Michael Jackson, Taylor Swift

Beyonce was on Taylor Swift’s side after Kanye West’s infamous protest that Beyonce should have won MTV’s Best Female Video award instead of Taylor.
But the two female singers will go head to head for the top awards (Album of The Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year) at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. Beyonce’s 10 Grammy nominations lead all artists followed by Taylor’s eight.
So what’s the difference between album, record and song of the year?
Well, Album of the Year judges the singer’s total compilation of songs on an album. Record of the Year rewards the singer of the best performance of a song, and Song of the Year honors the writer of the best song.
Lady Gaga, who has five Grammy nominations, was also nominated for the Grammys’ Album, Record and Song of the Year.

  • Beyonce and Jay-Z highest paid in 2010, but don’t give money to Haiti, dine in Paris

    1

    January 25th, 2010Teneshia LaFayeBeyonce, Entertainment, Haiti, Jay-Z

Jay-Z and Beyonce were among the musical artists to perform Friday for the “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon that raised $57 million for food, shelter, medical assistance and rebuilding efforts in Haiti, where two massive earthquakes left 100,000 dead and millions homeless and hungry.
Yet, Jay and B, Forbes magazine’s highest earning celebrity couple for the second consecutive year with a combined $122 million between June 2008 and June 2009, have not been mentioned among the celebrities that have given large contributions to Haiti.
However, celeb couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and fellow actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Sandra Bulllock each gave $1 million. Madonna, who also performed on Hope for Haiti Now, chipped in $250,000.
Brazilian model Giselle Bundchen, the highest paid supermodel last year and the new wife of NFL quarterback Tom Brady, gave a whopping $1.5 million to Haiti.
But Jay-Z and Beyonce, who secretly married in 2008 after dating on the down low for six years, have only lent their talents to raise money for Haiti. On the Haiti relief telethon Friday, Jay-Z joined Rihanna and U2’s Bono for the song “Stranded” and Beyonce sang her hit song, “Halo”, and substituted “Haiti” for “Baby” in her verses, “Baby, I can see your halo. You know you’re my saving grace”.
With Coldplay’s Chris Martin playing the piano, Beyonce sang,”You’re everything we need and more. It’s written all of your face. Haiti we can see your halo. I pray you wont fade away.”

The day after the Haiti telethon, Jay and B were photographed dining in a restaurant in Paris, and they were spotted leaving the Nice, France airport on Sunday.
While I respect they took the time to help raise money for Haiti, it would be nice to know if the power couple made any significant contributions to the hungry, homeless victims in Haiti.
Maybe, Jay-Z and Beyonce and other celebrities will step forward and give now that Haiti contributions will be tax write-offs for 2009.
To give $10 to Haiti through the American Red Cross, text HAITI to 90999 or give $5 to Haitian American artist Wyclef Jean’s non-profit Yele Haiti by texting YELE to 501501. My teen son and I each contributed to both charities.

  • Megan Fox misses top 10 for most desirable women, but Jessica Alba and Beyonce make the cut

January 22nd, 2010Teneshia LaFayeBeyonce, Entertainment, Megan Fox

Ask most men if they think Megan Fox is sexy and they will likely say “yes”.
Even women have said The Transformers beauty has the body they most desire to have.
Yet Fox, who has been voted the world’s sexiest woman for two years in a row, didn’t make the Top 10 list of Askmen.com’s 99 Most Desirable Women of 2010. Actually, the 23-year-old actress was voted No. 11.
Entourage actress Emmanuelle Chriqui won the top spot followed by Victoria’s Secret Angel Marissa Miller.
Actresses Jessica Alba, Beyonce (also a Grammy Award winning singer) and Eva Mendes were listed fifth, sixth and ninth, respectively.

Last year, Megan was voted the most enviable body by female readers of Heat magazine to beat out Jessica Alba and Beyonce who made the Top 10, and Fox replaced Beyonce as the female celebrity spokesmodel for Emporio Armani to be the focus of a highly anticipated underwear campaign.
In 2008, Megan unseated Jessica to be FHMonline.com’s coveted most sexiest woman in the world and she retained the title in 2009.
FHM hasn’t constructed its 2010 sexiest women list yet.
But Askmen.com’s 2010 most desirable women list has been released based on the opinions of its 6 million worldwide readers, and Jessica and Beyonce are listed ahead of Megan. The most desirable list wasn’t based solely on physical features. The women also were rated for traits that men value most in a companion, such as intelligence, humor, talent and character.
See if your favorite female celebrity made the world’s most desirable list.

  • Home video of Beyonce at age 16, offers words of wisdom, she says “slap me” if she has an attitude

January 11th, 2010Teneshia LaFayeBeyonce, Entertainment, Life

No wonder hip hop superstar Beyonce is equally grounded and successful.
At an early age, she understood the importance of putting God first, staying focused on your goals, ignoring the haters and suppressing her ego to get everything she wanted.
See for yourself in this home video of Houston-born Beyonce at age 16, just before her former girls group Destiny’s Child smashing success that launched her solo singing career.

A few years after that video, Beyonce was embroiled in a big lawsuit from two former group members and was labeled an egotistical diva. But B ignored the haters and pressed on.
Now 28, she’s a multi-millionaire, a multiple Grammy-Award winning singer and the wife of Jay-Z, a multi-millionaire business man and one of the most successful rappers of all time.
Beyonce is proof of what an individual can achieve by speaking positive words, believing in them and putting action behind them.

  • Jay-Z to become Shawn Knowles for Beyonce’s sake

    0

    December 25th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeBeyonce, Entertainment, Jay-Z, Life

Before appearing on Oprah this year, rapper and businessman Jay-Z had been hush-hush about his seven-year relationship with fellow hip hop superstar Beyonce Knowles. Even Jay and B’s nuptials were kept secret from their friends last year.
But now the former drug dealer has become so crazy in love with Beyonce that he is contemplating altering his name from Shawn Corey Carter to Shawn Knowles-Carter to preserve Beyonce’s family name.
    Jigga what?

Beyonce’s parents, Mathew and Tina Knowles, had Beyonce and her younger sister Solange, so they don’t have a boy to carry on their name, and Tina recently filed for divorce from her husband of 29 years.
Beyonce already preserves her mother’s maiden name, Beyince, and her and her mother have created the House of Dereon clothing line in honor of her grandmother, Agnes Dereon, who designed clothes for church alter boy, family and friends.

Now Jay-Z is becoming a family man by doing his part to preserve his wife’s heritage. He deserves credit because some guys have so much ego that they expect their wives to drop their maiden name and they balk at their bride hyphenating her maiden name with theirs.
But as hard as Jay-Z tries to portray, he has a soft spot for his wife and has proven that a real man does his best to make his wife happy.
If Jay follows through with his name change, Beyonce’s name would change from Beyonce Giselle Knowles to Beyonce Knowles-Carter.
And by combining their names, there may be some truth to speculation that Jay and B are planning to start a family.

  • Beyonce’s parents to divorce

    December 20th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeBeyonce, Entertainment

Beyonce fans have heard the whispers for years that her parents were living separate lives and now it’s been confirmed.
Beyonce’s mom, Tina Knowles, has filed for divorce from Beyonce’s father and manager Matthew Knowles.

When Beyonce started her musical career with Destiny’s Child in the late 1990s, Tina was the group’s hair stylist and clothing designer. Beyonce and her mom launched the clothing line, House of Dereon, in 2004 in honor of Tina’s mom and Beyonce’s grandmother, Agnez Dereon while B continues to work with her dad on her multiple Grammy Award winning musical career.
Matthew Knowles, 58, was hit with a paternity suit by actress Alexsandra Wright two months ago, but Tina Knowles, 55, is divorcing him because the couple has been drifting apart for years.

  • Beyonce and Lady Gaga hook up twice over phone

November 20th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeBeyonce, Entertainment, Lady Gaga

I guess Beyonce wasn’t creeped out my Lady Gaga’s outlandish wardrobe changes while sitting next to her at MTV’s Video Music Awards in September.
The “Diva” star and “Poker Face” singer have hooked up for two songs on their re-released albums.
Lady Gaga adds some pop to Beyonce’s “Video Phone” remix, which is featured on her I Am… Sasha Fierce extended album, and B lends her voice on Lady Gaga’s “Telephone”, a new song for her recently released album The Fame Monster, a re-release of her debut album The Fame.

Lady Gaga is very weird, but I love her music. Her “Poker Face” video lifted me out of a funk during the spring, and her “Paparazzi” song has been my cell ring tone for the last two months. I wake up to Beyonce’s “Diva”.
Read a review and listen to Beyonce’s and Lady Gaga’s “Video Phone” and “Telephone” and check out Lady Gaga and Beyonce in “Video Phone”.

  • Beyonce angers Arabs, beefs up security

    November 6th, 2009Teneshia LaFayeBeyonce, Entertainment

Islamic and Arab leaders are angered that Beyonce’s “nudity concert” is coming to Cairo, Egypt to corrupt their women, including entertainers who are to be covered from their shoulders to their knees.
An Islamic leader actually rounded up 10,000 supporters in his campaign against the “Bootylicous” American singer’s concert.

But B’s brash and sexy “I am… Sasha Fierce” show will go on as planned Friday. However, there will be beefed up security for her Cairo appearance to protect the singer and concert attendees.
Beyonce already canceled a concert in Malaysia because of Islamic opposition that requires female entertainers to cover up from their shoulders to their knees.
Since her tour has grossed more than $50 million, I think B should skip out on Cairo. She doesn’t need the money, and she should try to keep the peace in the Middle East, especially for the safety of her and her fans.
