American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert feels discriminated against because ABC edited out his wet kiss with his male keyboardist during his Sunday performance to conclude the American Music Awards in Hollywood.
Lambert’s controversial performance also included pulling a man’s face to his crotch area.

ABC ran the entire performance during the live Sunday broadcast for East Coast viewers, but the network edited out Lambert’s risqué kiss for the later broadcast on the West Coast. Additionally, ABC’s Good Morning America cancelled Lambert’s scheduled performance this week.
Adam calls it discrimination because he said women have gotten away with lip-locking during televised performances.
He probably was alluding to Madonna’s French kisses with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.

The difference is the ladies pulled their stunt on cable TV, and Adam committed a Janet&Justin snafu on network television, which is a no-no.
Besides, girl-on-girl is considered hot, and man-on-man is not.
Nevertheless, Adam would have been fine had he kissed a man on cable TV.

Remember comedic actors Will Ferrell and Sasha Baron Cohen kissed at the mic and fell to the floor lip locked at the MTV VMAs in 2007, and this summer rapper Eminem nearly kissed Sasha’s butt when the pals staged the actor’s bottoms-up, bare bootie fall into Em’s lap.
Adam’s antics would have been celebrated on MTV. He should make note of his error in judgment and be aware of the platform he’s performing on if he ever gets the privilege of closing out another prestigious show.By Teneshia LaFaye

Can all of the Adam Lambert fans please put their conspiracy theories to rest?
The final 100 million votes were counted and announced a week ago, and American Idol judge Simon Cowell has turned his attention to another media darling Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent.
Even Lambert is tired of hearing that he should have won instead of Kris Allen. The two of them appeared on The Today Show on Thursday morning and addressed the backlash of Allen’s victory and AT&T’s involvement.
“I rolled my eyes when I first heard about it,” Lambert said. “I really think people need to relax and accept this is the way the vote went. Move forward. We get to make albums now. We get to tour all summer. There’s not a conspiracy, people, really.”
Lambert was favored to win Idol, but Allen beat him out by 1 million. Nearly 100 million votes were cast, 38 million from Allen’s home state of Arkansas. It has been reported that a few AT&T employees brought cell phones to two Allen watch parties in Arkansas and showed fans how to power vote, sending 10 texts at once.
“I didn’t call up AT&T and say, ‘Hey, I need some more votes’,” Allen said.
When Allen was declared winner last Wednesday, he immediately said Lambert deserved to win and he repeated that sentiment in their Today Show appearance.
But Lambert said: “I’m very happy that Kris won. He’s super-talented, and he deserved it.”
Allen and Lambert took turns serenading a massive crowd outside New York’s Rockefeller Center. First, Allen strummed a guitar and sang his rendition of Kanye West’s hit song “Heartless”. Then, Lambert-fever rose when he took the stage and effortlessly sang Tears for Fears’ “Mad World” to a piano melody.
Watch their Today Show performances:
Lambert was hands-down the better performer on Today, sending chills through the TV and down my spine. He understands that he didn’t have to win Idol to be a star. He already has a record deal and a fan base of millions who voted for him. And he can look back at past Idol contestants, such as Clay Aiken, Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry, who lost and went on to mega stardom.
So Lambert fans can rest easy because his Idol appearance was just his coming out celebration and his star isn’t going out any time soon.By Teneshia LaFaye
