I am so sick of racist white people. This is 2011. The 21st century. Blacks haven’t been slaves since the 19th century, and African Americans obtained their civil rights in the 1960s. That was before the births of myself and supermodel Gabriel Aubry, Halle Berry’s ex and the father of her only daughter.
Yet Gabriel, who is white due to his French Canadian heritage, must not have gotten the memo that all people are created equal and no race is superior than any other race.
The model’s flawed inner conscience recently was exposed. An assistant of Halle Berry revealed that Aubry called the gorgeous Oscar-winning actress a “nigger” after their breakup following nearly five years together.
Also, it has been discovered that Gabriel gets upset when people refer to his and Berry’s toddler daughter, Nahla, as black.
Berry, whose mother is white and father is black, says her relationships with men, such as Aubry, have helped her be clear about who she is. Subscribing to the one-drop of black blood theory from Jim Crow laws, Berry says she is a black woman although she is proud of her white mother’s heritage. But she says while growing up society considered her black and she will leave it to society to decide whether her daughter, who turns 3 next month, also receives the label.
But it really is sad that racism is still so prevalent, and it has really come to a head since America elected its first African American president, who happens to be half white. The Tea Party Movement and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin are fueling hatred.
When is the racism going to stop?
Most of my interests are Eurocentric. I like Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Madonna, Eminem, Brad Pitt, Rob Lowe, (I’m over Johnny Depp), Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Goonies, The Count of Monte Cristo and other forms of white pop culture. I’m a second generation graduate of predominantly white University of Florida, and I speak proper English.
Yet, I’m not always accepted by whites and have experienced racism all my life for being the only black kid in the class or the neighborhood. But being a black female helped me get some great jobs as a newspaper sports writer to add diversity in the newsroom.
However, on a personal level, racism is still prevalent. Just yesterday, I was a patient at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville recovering from surgery, and a white female patient refused to share a room with me, screaming and crying in the hallway for two hours before finally being escorted into my room by three stern-looking white nurses. The nurses drew my curtains to separate the room. Then, I was rushed through being discharged to appease the white patient who freaked out at the sight of me when she was wheeled to the room door.
I’m so tired of racist white people.
By the way, I’m not racist. My husband nicknamed me “white girl” when we met as teenagers, and I live on one of the whitest sides of town. I love all of God’s children. I just wish all of His children would learn to love each other.

If, in fact, the hospital "story" IS true, I, as a caucasian (haven't you heard that "white" isn't PC), am appalled! I agree in the race /ethnicity argument.
