Rue McClanahan, youngest Golden Girl dies, (videos) while oldest still ticking

Rue McClanahan, my favorite Golden Girl during the sitcom’s run from 1985-1992, died of a massive stroke, also called a brain hemorrhage, on Thursday. She was 76.
Although she appeared on several popular TV shows and performed on and off Broadway, McClanahan is most remembered for her role as promiscuous, flirtatious Blanche Devereaux. She won an Emmy Award for her role in 1987.
Rue was the youngest of the Golden Girls’ cast that included Bea Arthur, Estelle Getty and Betty White. White, 88, was the oldest of the foursome. She is now the only living Golden Girl and still going strong, appearing in a popular Snickers’ Super Bowl commercial earlier this year and hosting Saturday Night Live last month for the show’s highest ratings since the 2008 U.S. presidential election.
