Katy Perry claimed instant fame when she belted out the international No. 1 hit song, “I Kissed A Girlâ€, in 2008 and she followed it up with a couple of moderately successful songs.
But Lady Gaga took Katy’s spotlight in 2009 using even more extreme sex appeal to complement an amazing voice to produce a fist full of No. 1 hits, and Lady Gaga remains the hottest female in pop music. Sorry Britney.
But Katy, who is engaged to English funnyman Russell Brand, has been voted the hottest lady in the world and has climbed back up the music charts with her newest release, “California Gurlsâ€. However if you listen closely, “California Gurls†sounds a lot like newcomer Kesha’s hit songs “Your Love Is My Drug†and “Tik Tokâ€. All three songs were produced by Dr. Luke, who also produced Katy’s “I Kissed A Girlâ€.
Katy’s No. 1 listing on Maxim’s 100 most beautiful women in the world is ahead of other pop singers, such as Rihanna (No. 6), Christina Aguilera (No. 18), Nicole Scherzinger (No. 24), Taylor Swift (No. 31), Britney Spears (No. 54) and Kesha (No. 56).
But can Katy produce a string of musical hits to challenge Lady Gaga for pop princess.
