Usually avid golfers would like a new golf bag or a new club for Christmas, but singer and actor Justin Timberlake has taken the extreme step of having a golf course built inside one of his mansions to practice putting in between his two weekly trips to Brentwood Country Club’s 18-hole course.
So I guess celebrities are going to start building indoor golf courses to go along with their indoor basketball courts, bowling alleys and swimming pools.
Justin, who beat out Oprah and Angelina Jolie for The Daily Beast’s Top Philanthropist of 2009, also owns a traditional outdoor golf course, Big Creek Golf Course, near his hometown of Memphis, Tenn.
Earlier this year, Justin hosted a charity Professional Golf Association tournament in Las Vegas to benefit the Shriners Hospital for Kids that offers free health care for children and treats children who are burn victims and need other special health care. He has raised $9 million for Shriners, so he has earned the right to spend $800,000 on an indoor golf course.
I wonder if Justin is getting in extra practice so he can get the upper swing on his girlfriend actress Jessica Biel, who has spent the last few months in Canada filming a movie remake of 1980s TV show The A-Team.By Teneshia LaFaye
