New York City gym teacher Brad Ferro has been vilified for being caught on tape delivering a single knock-out punch to one of the women in a bar on MTV reality show Jersey Shore.
But imagine if singer Chris Brown’s beating of his pop star ex Rihanna had been caught on tape. Brown delivered multiple punches, bit and threatened to kill Rihanna last February.
Chris’ career took a dive this year while he faced trial on two felony charges for the incident, and now he’s trying to bounce back with his newly released album, Graffiti, which is No. 2 on Itunes, with popular songs “Transform Ya” and “Crawl”.
However, some stores are refusing to stock his new album that was released Tuesday, and Chris recently went on a profanity-filled Twitter tirade to prove that he hasn’t changed much from the man who abused Rihanna. But after several days of rants, Chris has canceled his Twitter account.
But Brad deserves a break from all of the backlash.
After all, Chris was not drunk and was well aware of his actions, and Brad was clearly drunk when he slugged Nicole Polizzi during their barroom dispute in August. He has been fined $500 for pleading guilty to simple assault and taking anger management classes, like Brown. His former North Queens High students are defending him, and he is using his brief error in judgment to warn students of the consequences of consuming alcohol.
Hopefully, Chris finally learns from his own temper tantrums and decides to become a role model for young men.
